I see that you have release v8.0 - congrats. I installed it
Found an issue for me
After upgrading, the “manage in phpmyadmin” button was still not showing in the sites i already migrated in. So I thought this would be because we need to create the links with a new install - So i deleted my top level version of phpmyadmin (on the hostname domain) - then reinstalled it and selected “use as default”.
To my joy, the “manage in phpmyadmin” button now shows on one of my servers, but sadly when clicking on it, the result is “file not found”
(I have edited the exact url above for privacy, but you can see what i am saying.)
I see this
This page isn’t working
**myhostdomain ** is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 502
when i reload: The result displays as “file not found”
Note:
in the GUI if i hover over the button, i get a slightly different URL to the one that loads in the browser
myhostdomain dot com :123/virtual-server/login_phpmyadmin.cgi?dom=176760023423423423427&dbname=websiteuser_wpdb1
Phpmyadmin only works for the ones I installed it on.
When using the new method to install and selecting use as default, I assume that means any that don’t have it installed should use the default, but all I see is file not found after hitting that button.
I am very sorry to take up your time with this. I very much need and want this feature to work and so far it has broken the entire phpmyadmin for me - I’m not able to see why, perhaps you can share some of the logic in the code to allow me to debug.
So now, even if I install phpmyadmin into a single server, it also doesn’t function.
Adding to the top level host server and clicking “default” does not allow the other servers to access phpmyadmin.
All of the servers were migrated cpanel accounts - however even if i create a new server it still fails - so there is something in my set up that is preventing it from functioning.
I have the latest installation of all apps. I am on Rocky9 and using virtualmin Pro. I will open a support ticket so I can provide more screenshots etc
Define “doesn’t function”? What does that mean? What errors? Anything in the logs? What do you see?
Also, Ilia tried to split the conversation about it not working off into its own topic (to adhere to our guidelines of staying focused), so please follow up with your question and more details on this topic instead of here: A new phpMyAdmin button is missing when editing databases - #7 by Ilia
Unable to use it as it results in a 404, per my previous posts.
OK I can post in the other thread, but it is not to do with missing button. The button shows, but the links all go to 404, both for individually installed phpmyadmin instances, and for the “use as default” instance installed on the hostname. which thread do you prefer?
Ah, OK, make a new topic! If it’s not about either of the things already discussed, it’s a new problem which needs a new topic. It’s the number 1 item in our forum guidelines for a reason.
Making topics is free and allows us to focus on and understand the specific problem we’re trying to solve.
But, also, Ilia answered the 404 question with a link to the most likely cause in our FAQ. If that’s not the problem, we’ll need more info about where the request is going (so, access log entries).
