Zone Transfer (Missing dig command)

I have a master and a slave DNS sever. When I click the “Test Zone Transfer” button from the slave to pull from the master, I get the error:

Testing transfer of slave zone from XX.XX.XXX.XXX
from XX.XX.XXX.XXX : Failed : Missing dig command

Any idea how to fix that?

It sounds like you need to install the dig command :slight_smile:

Which distro/version are you using? How exactly you’d install that depends on which distro you have.

That’s what I ended up doing, I’m using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS – I was shocked that they don’t include it standard. I thought it was pretty common…
