ive got a windows vm (kvm) thats been running flawlessly since i put it up a couple months back. after addressing some more pressing matters, im just now getting around to scheduling backups for it.
after reading that i would need to shut the system down first in order to preserve consistency, i created a “scheduled task” in my windows vm to shutdown minutes before the scheduled cloudmin backup was to occur. i tested the windows scheduled task shutdown. then i hit reboot system in the cloudmin panel only to discover my windows vm now boots to a bsod bad_system_config_info 0x00000074 (0x00000003, 0x00000002, 0x80087000, 0xc000014c).
attempting to load “last known good config” produced no change. its not the end of the world if i have to reinstall the system, but i really need the data from my windows vm. PLZ tell me im not screwed.
