One of the entries in the Webmin navigation bar is one called Un-used Modules which gives access to configuration modules for many different services. However, once you start using one of these modules it is no longer “unused”. I would like to be able to move entries from “Un-used Modules” into other existing categories as well as create new categories without having to modify code myself. Is this possible or could it become possible?
The unused modules generally imply that some component isn’t installed, setup, or enabled.
When you click them, most of them are going to tell you what about them isn’t setup. For example, when I click “DHCP Server”, which is considered “unused” on my system – it says I need to install DHCP.
Once I do, I simply need to hit Webmin -> Refresh Modules, and it’ll move from unused to the correct area under Webmin -> Servers.
This has not happened to me with Bind9. When I first accessed it, I was prompted to install it which I did. I have configured it and am using it happily but it refuses to move to the servers category. I am running a new installation of Virtualmin 3.70 on Ubuntu 8.04 and the install was done with install.sh. It is not a big deal but it seems counter-intuitive to have working modules in the unused category.
