Why are you shouting ? You can get your point across without it.
It could be said that if you log in as the domain owner you do have your own dashboard what are you expecting ?
This is what I see when I log in to a VM.
And not the full use of this VM, as happens in the main System Information Dashboard.
- Memory Utilization;
- CPU utilization;
- Hard Drive Occupancy
- Total emails and emails used;
âŠ
Total emails may be of some use but why does a domain owner need to need to know system information? This could be destructive to your customer base if they see high cpu use, low remaining disk space and virtual memory utilised, with figures to the lay person show that the server is over subscribed and find a domain provider that either does not show this information or has a more powerful server. If your virtualmin installation is just for you log in as a root user
That does seem strange. I rarely login as a domain owner, but have confirmed the default page seen is similar to the dashboard provided to admin users.
I think this âcouldâ be a bug, and likely the âView Server Detailsâ page should be rendering in place of the Dashboard for domain users. Which IMO would seem a bit more logical.
@Ilia, perhaps you could look into why the domain users are seeing the âDashboardâ which even it is intentional seems a bit broken as shown in @li9-hst_web-services screenshot, which I can confirm appears the same on my systems too.
Update: looking at it again from my panel, perhaps a combination of âView Server Detailsâ along with a few sections from the current âDashboardâ (specific to the domains account â ex. Disk Usage, Bandwidth, Virtual Server Information) might be useful. The âSystem Informationâ section which appears empty for domain users, does however seem pointless to even be on the page.
This was a bug that I distinctly remember fixing. Iâll double-check it, though. Thanks for the heads-up!
Printing an empty table when thereâs no data was a bug, and itâs now fixed.
It is not called Filemin (or âfileminâ as it appears in the URL). Thereâs all sort of stuff in the URL that you are not expected to know anything about. If youâre confused by it, youâre going out of your way to be confused by it.
I am not confused, but maybe it should be renamed file manager.
It is pretty trivial but users still read URLs and can be mis-led
(it is a downside of GUI)
I have come to really like File Manager and use it now far more than FTP. (probably too much)
Iâm very pleased to hear that!
I hardly ever agree with Joe, but he absolutely nails it here⊠Simple Simple and if you need more help in understanding SIMPLE âŠ
There is way to much crap in virtualmin most probably only ever appeals to the fringe ⊠there is so much of the menu system I have NEVER clicked on other to be a nosey bastard.
