I was chasing a persistent virus on this server with claude AI helping when i noticed this:
Skipping acquire of configured file ‘main/binary-arm64/Packages’ as repository ‘Index of /vm/7/gpl/apt virtualmin InRelease’ doesn’t support architecture ‘arm64’
No, the upcoming Virtualmin 8 will support ARM repositories, but currently, it does not. If you want ARM support you may consider setting up Virtualmin pre-release repos which already support it.
Thank you, that’s great, I have had these free tier servers since 2023. Will version 8 require a rebuild? will it be soon? if i apt-get update from a terminal outside of virtualmin does that include the ARM stuff? thank you for your help
We’ll post an announcement in the News section. Not sure when yet. If we don’t try to squeeze in support for the upcoming Docker plugin in Virtualmin 8, it might be sooner—otherwise, around the end of summer.
