Virtualmin pro licence presale question

Hi

I’m interested in getting a pro licence, but I’m a bit confused about the language used in the description.
On virtualmin.com/shop it says 10 domains. when you click Select subscription it says

Virtualmin Professional for 10 Virtual Servers or Sub-servers (“domains”) on 1 system

So does that mean you can only have for example one domain with one virtualserver and 9 subservers and nothing else?
Or does it mean I can have 10 domains and a number of subservers?

I have 3 domains and use subservers quite extensively, 10 would not be enough.

Or am I misunderstanding something?

10 total domains, so if you have 2 top level and 4 sub servers its a total of 6 domains.

Steve

Well crud.
Not the news I was hoping for.
Thanks anyway!

Tobbe

The 50 domain count is not much more expensive and do it annually even cheaper.

I’m sorry, but what exactly were you expecting? Just to clarify—domains and subdomains count against the licensed domain limit, while aliases do not. Also, “on 1 system” means a single virtual or physical server.

For example, if you have a license for 50 domains, you can create any mix of top-level virtual servers and sub-servers, as long as the total doesn’t exceed 50. For example, 40 top-level servers and 10 sub-servers would be perfectly fine.

It’s just the wording. On the first page it says 10 domains.
Maybe it should say virtualservers or subservers instead of domains.

Accounts work differently on virtualmin than cpanel.

Cpanel accounts allow you to have as many domains as you want. It is the account number that defines cost.

On virtualmin each virtual server has it’s own resources and an account on virtualmin can have as many virtual servers as you want. Generally speaking, each virtual server handles one domain. A sub domain will be hosted on it’s own virtual server. It is the virtual server instances that are counted for the purposes of licensing.

That’s not correct, subdomain can be a different domain to the top level server.
Its just controlled by the top level admin

You can go with cpanel but prices start at $33US per month for only 5 accounts.

A sub domain is still a domain.

A tld is a domain.

Etc…
