Hello there, dear Virtualmin Community. I am currently using Virtualmin GPL and I have noticed that the free version, sadly does not support Cloudflare natively. I really want Cloudflare on my website, but my budget is pretty tight because I do not actually get any profit from my website right now and I can’t afford the 7,50 per month for the Pro version right now. Is there any other way to have Cloudflare working correctly with the Virtualmin GPL Edition that isn’t too complicated or time-consuming? Suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any reply.
There is literally nothing stopping you from using Cloudflare with Virtualmin GPL.
Virtualmin Pro automates DNS management using Cloudflare’s API. If you don’t want to pay a few bucks for Virtualmin Pro, you can manage DNS in Cloudflare yourself. If you disable the DNS feature in Virtualmin, it will even suggest the DNS records you need (though you’ll have to adjust some of them for use with Cloudflare, as they are a proxy, and so the IP for your website A records need to be for their IP).
I see. Thanks for the information. I’ve had problems with my previous web hosting service which used Plesk and Plesk had an extension for Cloudflare which was needed (Which the provider refused to add to my account). I also used CPanel before which also needed an extension for Cloudflare to work so I assumed it needs some special treatment to work. Thank you very much for your reply. I’ll try out your suggestion.
