Virtualmin got unresponsive again

I have 3 websites that i have to work again and until yesterday they did
Customers started to complain because of issues that occur every few days

and the virtualmin server to be responsive again:

https://nexus.superhost.gr:10000/

It says connecting and never conects to presnt the Web UI. Again:

Webpages won’t load:

[nikos@dell ~]$ host -t A varsa.gr
Host varsa.gr not found: 2(SERVFAIL)

[nikos@dell ~]$ host -t A leonidasgkelos.com
Host leonidasgkelos.com not found: 2(SERVFAIL)

[nikos@dell ~]$ host -t A ypsilandio.gr
Host ypsilandio.gr not found: 2(SERVFAIL)

(from my ArchLinux)

Virtualmin runs on CentOS 7

What can i do to fix those issues please?

Howdy,

Are all services offline, or are you able to connect on something such as SSH?

Also, how much RAM does your server have? You can determine that with the command “free -m”.

Lastly, are you using a VPS, or dedicated server? If a VPS, what type of VPS is it?

-Eric

Hello Andrey!

Yes, i can connect to my VPS via SSH protocol but only with its numeric format(ip address)

[root@nexus ~]# free -m
total used free shared buff/cache available
Mem: 1024 149 533 40 340 774
Swap: 1280 59 1220
[root@nexus ~]#

Its a VPS running CentOS 7.1 in an OpenVZ virtualization environment.

Howdy,

My suspicion is that you may be seeing a resource problem of some sort.

What output do you receive if you run this command:

cat /proc/user_beancounters

Hello,

Could you please help me with this issue, i checked also each and every one virtual server for its DNS settigns and all seem fine.

Please ask me what you want me to show you and i will issue the command and report back.

Does the problem go away after restarting the problem service?

For example, if you can’t access Webmin/Virtualmin, and you restart it, are you then able to access it? You can restart Webmin with this command:

service webmin restart

I tired what you said but still no luck.

i noticed thoigh that accessing virtualmin by http://ip_adress:1000 does work.

Do i have to change something to the DNS server settigns please?

Howdy,

You may want to enter your domain names over at intodns.com, in order to get a DNS report. It will show the DNS issues that it sees.

With the errors I see there for your domains, either some records are missing, or BIND isn’t running/accessible.

You may want to try restarting BIND, and make sure doing so doesn’t produce any errors.

-Eric

Could you please guid me please?

When i view DNS settings for every domain via virtulamin all records seem fine, yet the gostnames cannot be resolved.

Please guide me on that exact command should i issue to fix this.

Thank you very much.

Howdy,

Did you try entering your domain into the intodns.com site mentioned above? That site mentioned a variety of DNS issues for your domains that may need resolved.

-Eric

thats what is says for any of the 3 domains i host.

Check your zone files manually. It could be Vmin interface cant show you what is wrong with your DNS records but you should be able to see if you open the file manually (in case there is something wrong with your records).

Hello,

Virtualmin can show me each domain’s DNS setting. Problem is iam not experienced with it.

Could you please telle me what you want me to show you?

I have already posted varsa.gr’s DNS settting.

Howdy,

The intodns.com site is no longer showing errors – is it working properly for you now?

-Eric

Yes andrey for some reason when i un-cloudflares supergost.gr and pointed to ns*.superhost.gr after a few hours it started working again…

but now i have no cloudflare protection. How did that happened?
