Virtualmin and Wordpress

Hi all,

Though I know you guys won’t necessarily know Wordpress inside out, I’ve decided to post it here because I think it’s an issue with my V/M GPL install.

I want to install a blog for personal use at http://www.voodooed.net/symposia/ but it’s coming up with the error that ‘Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL which is required for WordPress.’

I had used the install script for Debian 4.0

A php_info() (http://www.voodooed.net/symposia/check.php) doesn’t show any MySQL module loaded.

Has my install gone amiss?

Note: this domain was only registered VERY recently so it may not have propagated through nameservers globally yet. I’m using a local DNS to work on this server.

Howdy excaliber,

We might have a our dependencies messed up on Debian.

You can try installing php5-mysql with apt-get:

apt-get install php5-mysql

If it’s already installed, maybe something else is needed to enable it. I’m kinda dumb about PHP, I’m afraid (though we use PHP heavily for Virtualmin.com and for the Webmin blog, but I still just bumble along until something good happens, rather than actually understanding stuff).
