Virtual Server mail login name

Hello,

I am running Webmin & Virtualmin on Centos 5.4. I’ve installed it by install script, so it configured everything by itself. It looks like everything is working flawlesly. The only problem is that, i have to login mail server with:

user: hsa2.difuzyonhosting ( instead of hsa2@difuzyonhosting.com )

Is there anyway to make login name username@domain.tld?

Howdy,

First, you may want to take a peek at this, regarding @ in usernames:

http://www.virtualmin.com/documentation/id,frequently_asked_questions/#what_s_the_deal_with_in_mailbox_usernames

If you’re still interested in using them (it’ll work just fine), you can enable that by going into System Settings -> Server Templates -> Default -> Mail for Domain, and you can tweak the option named “Format for usernames that include domain”.

Thanks for your really quick reply

I have a new question

When i send mail from my mail account ( from squirrelmail interface ), it goes from an address like hsa2.difuzyonhosting@difuzyonhosting.com. What can I do about it?

I have a new question

That’s fine, though for future reference, new questions generally warrant new forum posts; we tend to get confused when the topic changes too much under one particular forum thread  It also makes searching for things down the road a bit more complicated…

When i send mail from my mail account ( from squirrelmail interface ), it goes from an address like

Yeah, Squirrelmail isn’t always able to detect what email address it should be using for a given user.

You could always manually set the email address to use in the Squirrelmail settings.

Alternatively, what you’d need is a Squirrelmail plugin that auto-detects an email address, preferably using /etc/postfix/virtual.

It sounds like such a plugin may exist, and in doing some searching around here, I see it looks like someone attempted to create one that understands how to work under Virtualmin. You can see details of it here:

http://www.virtualmin.com/node/4519

There may be other similar plugins on the Squirrelmail plugins page.

Again, thanks for your help
