Ubuntu 8.04 apache2 security releases

I was just looking at the Apache2 versions for Ubuntu 8.04 by Virtualmin at http://software.virtualmin.com/gpl/ubuntu/dists/virtualmin-hardy/main/bi…, and I noticed that it appears the latest update is 2.2.8-12vm.ubuntu0.14. However, according to Ubuntu (http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/apache2), the latest version of Apache is 2.2.8-1ubuntu0.19. Parsing the version names apart, it seems that Virtualmin has Ubuntu revision 14, although the latest is Ubuntu revision 19.

I need to make sure I’m running the latest security patches to Apache for PCI compliance. Will Virtualmin update these packages, or is there some way I can move to the Ubuntu packages without breaking anything?

If you don’t see the updates in Virtualmin by the end of the day, please feel free to file a bug report (using the Support link above), as those should certainly be in there :slight_smile:

I wouldn’t recommend moving to the Ubuntu packages though, as that would break suexec, which had to be recompiled to work on /home.
