SuExec CentOS 8 LAMP fresh install

Just got the following error after running Virtualmin > Re-Check Configuration
“SuExec cannot be used to run PHP scripts in CGI or FCGId modes : The Suexec command on your system is configured to only run scripts under /var/www, but the Virtualmin virtual server home directory is /home. CGI scripts run as domain owners will not be executed.”

Any ideeas?
Thank you.

As long as you’re ok with PHP-FPM that message is more of an announcement than an error.

It’s better explained in older posts…

Thank you, I was searching for the custom apache build in the repo
So that is why git repo does not work anymore?

I haven’t been using Virtualmin long enough to be familiar with its Git repos. AFAIK, Debian is the only supported distro offering custom Apache with suexec pointing to /home.

There is a work-around though, if there is a great need.

PHP-FPM is all I need but that’s a clever hack worth bookmarking. Personally, I like the direction Virtualmin is going with Apache and CentOS.
