Yes they do, but as I mentioned above for the purposes of this exercise I have turned off the SSL component so its only listening on port 80
Thanks Joe,
I will rummage through that guide and hopefully find an answer.
This particular server runs one public IP and every site shares it, SSL I turned off for the sub servers and IP6 is off.
Honestly I didnât think that this issue would be such a pain.
Ok I just looked into both the access and error logs for the sub server in question and they are both empty.
There is nothing in the public_html folder on the sub server and yet for some mysterious reason it keeps redirecting to the top level server.
It will do that if you donât have an SSL certificate in place. It will ALWAYS do that.
Hereâs a test - go to Virtualmin and select one of the subservers from the dropdown menu. Then go to Server Configuration / Website Options and select the Default Website for IP Address Option and hit save.
Then you shouldnât see your top level domain anymore. Youâll go to that site by default. If you donât, then youâve got something else wrong.
Ok I did as you asked, it is now the default website for the servers IP address.
Would you believe that this just keeps getting more infuriating as we go.
So now if I browse to the subserver that I just set as default the blasted thing still goes to its top level servers page.
The thing that really gets me is that I have deleted and recreated the sub servers a few times but every time the same problem occurs.
Is there maybe a primary Apache config that this could possible be in, I mean Iâm really starting to clutch at straws here.
Thatâs more than likely a DNS issue.
What do you actually see? Take a screen shot and post it.
I have had a look through the top level domains DNS and I canât see anything untoward, it all looks perfect.
Look Iâm happy to give you the domains and you can have a quick look but I donât want to openly post them here.
If youâre that paranoid about getting help, so be it. Good luck.
I just sent you a private Massage with the links
