SSL Cert Issue

Hi,

I created a dev site on a tmp domain(domain.com) and created an SSL Cert via letsencrypt. Once I launched the site, I changed the domain to domain.com.
If I now try to create an SSL Cert for this new domain it always fails. Likewise, when the automated virtualmin server validation tool runs, it returns an error like this:

SSL website : The SSL certificate for this virtual server does not match domain.com or www.domain.com. Instead, it matches the hostnames : domain.de

Any solutions / ideas as to how I can rectify this?

munklefish, you running live website on domain.de or domain.com?

The original SSL Cert was created for the .com domain when the site was in development. Once live, I switched the domain to .de

Then, once the site was live I tried generating a new SSL Cert but got the above mentioned error.

I see… well if you dev the site locally or on whatever domain, make sure you copy only dbs and /public_html files, nothing else… that should make it work right a way with old cert, however I have no idea what cms is that - perhaps some additional settings needs to be re-viewed but I think you should be fine.

It was developed on the same server. All we did was change the domain name to go live. All SSL cert related fiels were created by Virtualmin.

same server but different domain != same settings… again check your cms for those settings and also copy as advised.

This has absolutely nothing to do with a CMS. This is Virtualmin 100%.

Virtualmin will not generate a SSL Cert for the new domain name. The output it gives is as indicated in the first post.

Ah I see… error is: SSL website : The SSL certificate for this virtual server does not match domain.com or www.domain.com. Instead, it matches the hostnames : domain.de means your certs are correct as live site is on .de domain, this means its correct to my understanding. You did upload your stuff to domain.de or you changed domain.com to domain.de? - that is the part I perhaps miss - understand.
