I’m trying to configure spam to go the a spam directory “~/Mialdir/.Spam” in the users email directory
no matter how I configure it, the spam goes to /dev/null
Well, technically, Ubuntu 10.04 LTS isn’t supported by the installer yet, so it’s possible you’re running into some sort of incompatibility
However, the reason that would otherwise occur is if a spam is scored as particularly high.
In your /var/log/mail.log file should be an associated SpamAssassin entry that lists what spam tests matched on that particular email. Which tests is it saying matched, and how high is it scoring?
You may also want to verify that in Server Settings -> Spam and Virus Delivery, that “Delete spam if score is above” is set to “Don’t delete”. You may also want to verify that “Destination for spam email” on that same screen is set to go to the correct place.
Ok that makes sense.
I’m using the test string from http://spamassassin.apache.org/gtube/ for testing which would most likely cause a score high enough to do that .
