Software Collections 64-bit only?

Hi,

I would like to verify that Software Collections is only 64-bit only?

I tried to install it with “yum install centos-release-SCL” and it said “No package centos-release-SCL available.”. Looking at some examples on the Software Collections website, the rpms had x86_64 append to the names.

This arouse from trying to install a newer version of php as required by some scripts.

Howdy,

Yes, unfortunately, that repo is 64 bit only.

However, note that 64 bit seems to be the future of CentOS. CentOS 7 is also 64 bit only.

Guess it is time to go to migrate to CentOS 7 and to 64-bit software.
