Smb.conf contains the config or include directive

SYSTEM INFORMATION
OS type and version Ubuntu 24.04
Webmin version 2.621

Hello, I was playing around with Webmin and tried to setup using the preferred parameters.
When I changed the setting ‘servers windows file sharing–>windows networking options–>security’ from default to ‘share level’ the smb shares weren’t accessible from any workstation.
I changed it back and restarted the Samba server, then I noticed a message “Warning - Your Samba configuration file /etc/samba/smb.conf contains the config or include directive. This may cause Webmin to modify the file incorrectly.”

I did a search but found no solution.

Can somebody help me to resolve this problem?

Thank you.

Tom

Does your config file have config or include lines? Doing a search the AI response suggests this as those line have been depreciated or changed in newer versions. Maybe webmin is configuring the file using the config or include lines or your using a older version of samba

AI content warning  Its could be wrong!!!

Hello, thank you for your (AI) reply.

I checked the testparm and the only message it gives me is:
Weak crypto is allowed by GnuTLS

The rest seams ok.
