If a backup is scheduled for a time-based destination, for example
/backup/sites/daily/%d-%m-%Y
Then the Create destination directory?
box must also be ticked (unless the user intends to manually create the directories for every backup run, which I doubt anyone does).
Virtualmin will accept and create the scheduled backup to a time-based destination even if the box isn’t ticked, but the backup will fail; and unless the user has enabled email notification, they will never know.
It seems sensible to me for Virtualmin to check whether the Create destination directory?
box is ticked whenever a time-based scheduled backup is specified by the user. There’s no point in creating an automated backup that will fail when it’s actually executed.
That is all. Carry on.
