Restoring Ubuntu backups to Debian

I have doubts/issues with that (I have a client who uses Rust alot) the only way I could accommodate this was to install Rustup which used snap is currently happy on 22.04.5)

Come on @Stegan You have to read through my post. I make clear of every input I insert into this forum.

That being said, I agree with you. SNAP does have it’s benefits. But, the option is there to simply remove it, if it’s in any ones way.

I have never used Ubuntu for anything, so I’m puzzled by your comment …

The problem (my fault) I was not aware that I had installed Rustup using snap
and only found out by running your command snap list

I’m not planning to move away from Ubuntu at this point but that particular VM is one earmarked for an upgrade soon (so Debian is an option)

I am sure that Rust can be installed on Debian somehow. (if that ends up being the decision)

I have 2 Debians 12 and never get problems which was not My fault.

Then there are a lot of peoples on internet who are beginners. You know it probably better than me (being on this forum for much longer than me), it’s not rare problems come from the “Dev” or the Admin himself. Simply because they don’t understand what they do.

Each hub deserve a dedicated architecture which match with what it offer. But not so much Dev take care of it. So sometime they try to adapt some “modules” server side to fist the platform while it didn’t have been plan for. And we get an “issue” …
