I want to restore the backup content of a vhost with the domain “test” from one server to a vhost with the domain “test01” on another server. Please provide the steps to accomplish this.
I don’t see away during the restore process, but once restore you can just rename.
The website may get screwed up if you have absolute addresse urls in the code.
I already tried this method. First, I created a vhost on the second server with the same name as the first one and restored the backup onto it, which worked fine. However, after changing the domain name, the website stopped working, and everything seemed to become chaotic. could you provide me what to do
yeah it would, what type of website? Like is it wordpress?
yes it is a wordpress website
I’ve always uses all-in-one migration plugin. (I do have the Premium Extensions due to the size of the backups ive done)
but there are a few plugin that will do this.
Google it you will find alot of solutions.
Restore the backup as usual, then update the domain name in Virtualmin under “Edit Virtual Server” > “Domain name”. Don’t forget to update DNS and SSL if needed!
