Repos virtualmin 7 pro debian11

I have migrated from Debian 10 to Debian 11. installed in a Proxmox VM
I have changed the repositories from debian to bullseye…
but I don’t see anywhere how to change the virtualmin repositories from /etc/apt/sources.list.d/virtualmin.list in which I have:
deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/debian-virtualmin-6.gpg] https://software.virtualmin.com/vm/6/apt virtualmin-buster main
deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/debian-virtualmin-6.gpg] https://software.virtualmin.com/vm/6/apt virtualmin-universal main
Virtualmin is working fine, apparently, and it says that we are in version 7.5 Pro…
It obviously does not take into account vitualmin.list
How do I change those repos to version 7 in the virtualmin.list?
or is it not necessary?

You probably shouldn’t. The metapackages change between Virtualmin 6 and Virtualmin 7 installer versions.

You have the latest packages; we’ll continue to push updates to Virtualmin 6 repos for several more years. You’re not missing anything using the Virtualmin 6 repos. And, the only binary packages in the buster repo are compatible with Debian 11, so there’s no need to panic on that front.

It’s probably safe on Debian to switch (maybe a little less so on Ubuntu), though it might have some surprises (things might become eligible for autoremove that you don’t expect, for instance). You should be careful going from one major version of repos to the next; major versions are when we’re allowed to break things. So, there may be some breakage when you switch from Virtualmin 6 repos to Virtualmin 7 repos.

In short, don’t fix it if it ain’t broke, I say. You may be on a whole new server by the time the Virtualmin 6 repos reach EOL (which will coincide with Virtualmin 8 release, most likely in a year or so).
