FYI - Nothing was modified on the server. I had not touched it (or needed to) in months.
My bad. It reported a “bad 212” (blank line) because I added an option “DefaultAddress 192.168.1.1.” Sorry.
I gave up trying to figure out what went wrong. I totally remove ProFTP (and dependencies). I then re-installed ProFTP from the “Settings page”.
As this is an internal network only setup, I set it to only bind on my internal ip address, and now just vanilla FTP.
Thanks for trying to sort this out; it must remain a mystery!
