Problem with smtp connection

Hello,

So I’ve installed virtualmin on Ubuntu 16.04, and when I try to connect to send an email from roundcube or thunderbird, it says authentication failed.

But am I the only one to have this problem? Is there a way to fix it while installing virtualmin?

Howdy,

Hmm, that issue occasionally had come up in the past for other distros, I thought that had since been corrected. So I’m not sure whether that’s a fluke, or whether something about that fix isn’t applying properly on Ubuntu 16.04.

I’ll look into that further, thanks for letting us know!
