hello callport how to configure a smarthost via its GUI.
In Webmin → Servers → Postscript Mail Server go to SMTP Authentication And Encryption and then fill the boxes under Send outgoing mail via host
I entered
relayhost = plesk-host-msa.interlayer.net
under Send outgoing mail via host
I got this message
when I opened manually checj
it gave me blank file
I opened the back end
etc> postfix> main cfg
I deleted the line
relayhost = relayhost = plesk-host-msa.interlayer.net
the server was restored
And no email was received other than the ones from configured in system
Instead of deleting
relayhost = relayhost = plesk-host-msa.interlayer.net
you could have edited it to
relayhost = plesk-host-msa.interlayer.net
and that might have got your mail going.
I have no idea why you get a malformed relayhost when you use the Virtualmin GUI… perhaps it was due to something which was manualy added earlier which tripped up Virtualmin.
yes I corrected as you mentioned but sitill no email sent
i found this message in [(Mail Delivery System)

The mail system

Delivery to Gmail, Hotmail is the litmus test for a perfectly configured mail system. There has been a recent discussion in this forum about Hotmail / Outlook deliverability quirks.
Don’t test with Gmail or Hotmail. I suggest you test your system with mail-tester.com or seek help of a friend who uses a standard, RFC complaint mail system such as the kind Virtualmin offers.
PS: are you sure the smarthost is being used?
Ah, silly me! I should have spotted this earlier.
No @elhassan you should not have entered relayhost = plesk-host-msa.interlayer.net
; you need just enter plesk-host-msa.interlayer.net
finally with the help of calport I figured how to send mail from smart host
just add the configured port number at the end of smart host
