Hi it looks like this bug is back?

Really important for security on our systems. I’ve set it to log out after 10 minutes - Leave it 15 minuts and go back and still have access to server …

Anything I can try?

As this is your first post you have not referenced any bug what are you posting about ?

and that information is useless! just how long is it going to be relevant or even of any use? “latest” on a forum is totally meaningless. there is a facility to copy + paste the required information. Sorry, as you are new you may not have seen that yet.

Where?

How?

changing settings often requires a secondary step to be performed - often inclding clearing cache especially your browser. (which these days remembers a lot of information)

Wow you are exceptionally rude.
Congratulations.

I’ll wear that as a badge of honor, however there is still the point that you have not referenced a bug or even added any system details

I have Webmin/Virtualmin on Debian 11.
Works for me. This is my home machine so I’m not too worried about access. I just didn’t want to leave unused sessions for security reasons. I can confirm I have to re-login every morning.

We do actually need more information, though. If there is a previous bug report that would provide context, you need to link us to it. I don’t recall any discussion of automatic log out not working, so this is news to me.

Your system info and browser, and the exact configuration you’re using (a screenshot of the config page would be fine), would probably be a good start.

Webmin 2.202 on Ubuntu Linux 24.04.1 - Linux 6.8.0.47.
It was last reported on Sourceforge - the post was answered by Jamie who appeared to fix it with an immediate release.

Ive cleared the cache - I’m using Edge browser - and I still have an active session after 5 minutes .
Is there anything else I can do ?

Can you try another browser? I use Opera and it times out. Maybe Edge is ‘thoughtfully’ sending a keep alive packet on your behalf.
EDIT: Maybe close the browser for 5 minutes?
