I’ve rolled out version 6.0.22 of the virtualmin-config package (this provides the
virtualmin config-system command and is primarily used during installation to configure the system, but can also be used after installation in some cases).
Changes in this version:
- Open high ports (1025-65535) in the Firewalld module. High ports are needed for passive FTP.
- Perl syntax updates.
- Minor bugfixes.
If you have problems with passive FTP, and you have a system using systemd (CentOS 7, Debian 8 and 9, Ubuntu 16.04 and 18.04), running the following may help:
# virtualmin config-system --include Firewalld
It’ll spit out some harmless warnings about existing rules, because it already ran during Virtualmin installation. These warnings can be ignored.
This package is only available in the Virtualmin 6 (/vm/6) repositories, so if you’re on a system installed from the older repos, you won’t see this update (and won’t need it…the firewall configuration was completely different on systems installed back then).
