You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: package-cleanup --problems
                        package-cleanup --dupes
                        rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

I’ve tried the suggestions about package-cleanup to no avail. So I don’t see how to proceed from here. Ideas?

That’s an outstanding bug that Joe is working on…

For what it’s worth, this is happening on a Centos 5.7 XEN box with VM Pro. On another GPL box under Ubuntu 10.04.2 with OpenVZ the update was processed without incident.

Okay, that should be all fixed up now! You may need to run “yum clean all” in order for that to work properly.
