Migrated WP domains—admin login Issue

I am moving several domains from cpanel to VM. Most have moved OK but one has an issue where the WP website works (although plain page) but going to wp-admin takes me to the server default domain.

It has a new SSL cert and DNS has been reset.

Strangely, the new VM server/domain also includes an install of ClassicPress, which wasn’t on the CPanel install!

What have I done wrong?

The SSL isn’t initially installed correctly. I re issues but SSL is not working.

Also, the 'default site; wp-admin goes to is not THE default site!

Try a different browser or incognito mode.

Clear your cache

Check your sites htaccess file for rules etc…

Make sure the SSL certificate has been issued correctly by checking in your VM panel.

I have reinstalled the server.

SSL cert is automatically created, but the 443 site is not. Upon manually creating (and resetting DNS), still issues.

I have tried different browsers and PC’s!

Deleted htaccess!

SSL seems good tome!

Now, this is very strange.

With a view to getting formal support (and, of course to support VM again) I got an annual license.

I deleted the migrated server again and reloaded it. Again, it did to create the SSL server, just the port 80 one. Once I added the SSL website as a feature, all started working.

This leads me to believe that there is an issue with the community version.

I will report a bug!

That is not an SSL server it’s plain http, SSL servers, by default, use port 443 which serves https

Is AI drive by some kinda contest by people with nothing better to do or do they get paid to train? Seriously starting to wonder.

You’d be surprised by how many more of these that we get than you see. The Discourse antispam rules catch a lot of them (the “typed too fast” filter catches most of them). My best guess is they’re trying to gain karma to be able to post links in their posts, or they plan to come back to old posts and add links to them. The dumbest of them post links in their first AI generated post, and those nearly always get caught by the filter.

Just keep reporting the ones that sneak past the filters.
