I am moving several domains from cpanel to VM. Most have moved OK but one has an issue where the WP website works (although plain page) but going to wp-admin takes me to the server default domain.
It has a new SSL cert and DNS has been reset.
Strangely, the new VM server/domain also includes an install of ClassicPress, which wasn’t on the CPanel install!
With a view to getting formal support (and, of course to support VM again) I got an annual license.
I deleted the migrated server again and reloaded it. Again, it did to create the SSL server, just the port 80 one. Once I added the SSL website as a feature, all started working.
This leads me to believe that there is an issue with the community version.
You’d be surprised by how many more of these that we get than you see. The Discourse antispam rules catch a lot of them (the “typed too fast” filter catches most of them). My best guess is they’re trying to gain karma to be able to post links in their posts, or they plan to come back to old posts and add links to them. The dumbest of them post links in their first AI generated post, and those nearly always get caught by the filter.
Just keep reporting the ones that sneak past the filters.
