MariaDB has added more features since the fork than MySQL, has more developers contributing, and has performance advantages for most workloads, last I checked.
Arbitrary incompatibility is not a feature. It benefits only the vendor wanting to lock people into their database.
i just installed phpMyadmin on the server and have extracted the database successfully.
So I think Iām good on that part now for now. The interesting part is when i import it to the new server. Hopefully it will go without any quirks.
