MariaDB Server Configuration Fatal Error!

Using an old version is never better. We’ll fix it.

I’ve opened an issue about it: There is no `[mysqld]` section for `mariadb-server` on Debian 13 (and probably future Ubuntu versions) · Issue #2650 · webmin/webmin · GitHub

We’ll fix it soon.

But, also…you don’t need to change the Mariadb server configuration to use Virtualmin, most people never do, which is why this hasn’t come up before. What were you looking to change?

It’s definitely not a reason to choose Debian 12 over 13. If you really urgently need to change the Mariadb server configuration, just edit the config file directly.

Oh ok, this clarifies for me that that section is somewhat cosmetic and I can configure it by changing another configuration file. Okay, I’ll consider sticking with Debian 13. I’ll open another post about a different topic, as I still have a question about Virtualmin that is more important. Thank you so far for your time!
