Ok we are currently transferring customers from one server to a new one (deb 10 to 11). Now we have moved approx 60 over with no issues, the last one has a strange issue where all data seems to be copied over but none of the user/user accounts get copied over, the other odd thing is when I go to the directories where the user data/emails are the owners and group is some random accounts that actually do reside on the server but have nothing to do the domain being moved.
tonight I took a copy of a back up from yesterday and tried a restore on a debian 12 server I been testing just to see if the back up or something else was stuffed, but this worked as expected and everything looks good. So far we have a 100% failure rate (3 out of 3 attempts). moving this server.
So to recap using the transfer option it fails but all 60 others transfers worked, but taking a back up of the server it restores fine. The only other thing I will say is this virtual server is approx 170 gig in size if that matters I have no idea.
Any ideas … I’m all ears
