Not currently, but we could add an option for this. However, it wouldn’t provide true protection, as the domain owner will still have access via the filesystem to all mailboxes of users in that domain.
I think it has value even just from the perspective of simplifying the UI. Complexity, especially for domain owners and end users, continues to be the number one complaint.
There is actually a global setting for this already, at System Settings → Virtualmin Configuration → User interface settings → Show mailbox size when editing users?
Somewhat confusingly, this also controls the visibility of the link to read email for a mailbox user - I should rename it!
I am planning on installing Virtualmin Pro on a server and this link would be irrelevant since I will not be hosting email on the same server. Will just be more confusing for the clients.
Trying it on a test server where I haven’t removed postfix but left it so that root emails and fail2ban can pass through. This goes for cron jobs for the virtualservers as well. So yes it will still show up so they can see the cron jobs and admin emails. Their admin emails will get forwarded to their main email accounts on another server.
I didn’t expect this to be so confusing as to why I need the link removed.
The mail feature is enabled for the Admins account that includes Aliases as well. The server will be setup to only send out email notifications to their main email accounts from what ever scripts that are attached to the aliases. My clients are Lawyers and PIs and they are asking to keep it simple for their employees hired to administer the website only. No need for a link within the panel to stir things up for them.
Although I did find an even better option: Virtualmin > Administration Options > Edit Owner Limits > Other restrictions > Hide Webmin modules catigory in menu
