How to re-link a mysql database to a Virtual Server?

Is there a way to manually link a mysql db to a virtual server?
Somehow in a previous backup / restore / server move - I’ve seemingly lost that configuration information for each virtual server and have to copy those separately.

Ideally, if I can easily re-link them in Virtual Min, to enable the “Edit Databases” link, I can backup / restore them seamlessly.

Any help is appreciated!

If you go into Edit Databases -> Import Database, you can there set any “unowned” database to be imported into your Virtual Server.

But what if you don’t have an “Edit Databases” link.
When I try to enable MySQL Database for the virtual server is fails because the database already exists.

To correct the issue you are facing with not being able to “enable mysql” follow these instructions:

  1. Login to Virtualmin as “root” or “admin” user (access to all domains)

  2. Go to: System Settings > Server Templates > Default Settings > MySQL databases

  3. Change the setting “Create database as well as login?” to “No” then click “Save”.

  4. Now attempt to enable the feature.

Once you’ve imported the database, you can safely revert back the setting above.
