Home server + Virtualmin

Everything install without any errors
I added a virtual Server than added all the files for the site, went to the domain and all I get is this

It works!

This is the default web page for this server.

The web server software is running but no content has been added, yet.

Same for every virtual server ive made so far :frowning:

Any ideas why its not showing the virtual Servers ?

Cheers

also on the system my hostname is this
System hostname debian.server (127.0.1.1)

127.0.1.1 ? never seen this before

also in my /etc/hosts

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.1.1 debian.server debian

The following lines are desirable for IPv6 capable hosts

::1 ip6-localhost ip6-loopback
fe00::0 ip6-localnet
ff00::0 ip6-mcastprefix
ff02::1 ip6-allnodes
ff02::2 ip6-allrouters

is this all normal?
Cheers

Howdy,

Are you by chance behind a NAT router?

If so, Apache may not be configured to handle that properly.

If you go into System Settings -> Re-Check Config, does it notice any problems?

I am indeed Eric but the check config confirmed everything was ok. (I did have to change the IP it said from 192.168.0.100 to my real IP address)
Before at the very start not this time.

The status of your system is being checked to ensure that all enabled features are available, that the mail server is properly configured, and that quotas are active …
Your system has 7.82 GB of memory, which is at or above the Virtualmin recommended minimum of 256 MB.
Mail server Postfix is installed and configured.

Apache is installed.

Webalizer is installed.

Apache is configured to host SSL websites.

MySQL is installed and running.

ProFTPd is installed.

Logrotate is installed.

SpamAssassin and Procmail are installed and configured for use.

ClamAV is installed and assumed to be running.

Plugin AWstats reporting is installed OK.

Plugin DAV Login is installed OK.

Plugin Mailman is installed OK.

Plugin Protected web directories is installed OK.

Using network interface eth1 for virtual IPs.

IPv6 addresses are available, using interface eth1.

Default IP address for virtual servers is 82.*********.

Default IP address is set to 82.********, which matches the detected external address.

Both user and group quotas are enabled for home and email directories.

All commands needed to create and restore backups are installed.

The selected package management and update systems are installed OK.

… your system is ready for use by Virtualmin.

Hmm, something seems awry with what you’re describing.

Could you post a screenshot of your System Settings -> Virtualmin Config -> Network Settings page?

Thanks!

Howdy,

Okay, what you want is for your “Default Virtual Server IP Address” to be “From Network Interface”, and “Default IP for DNS” to be “Automatically detected external IP address”.

Otherwise, Virtualmin won’t be configuring Apache with the correct IP (which should be the internal IP).

-Eric

Thank you Eric!

Eric for some reason I don’t think mysql is working right

I keep getting

Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data.

On sites without datebases the site loads fine, is there anyway I can find out whats happening

There is nothing in this log file
/var/log/mysql.log

Cheers
