Let me share my thoughts on the subject.
Ive come across webmin more than a decade ago, and even back then was far more superior than any other CP available, it simply worked every time and it had an array of settings and options i have never seen in a Cpanel.
The UI took a while to get used to, and once i did there was no turning back.
I am not a pro by any means but Cpanel is very limited even by my standards, using webmin has thought me so much especially bundled with Virtalmin Pro.
Also dealing with Virtualmin staff takes some getting used to, it reminds me of an episode of Seinfeld, The Soup Nazi, there is an order here to which you are constantly reminded of, it takes a bit of work but you get your soup at the end of the day and the guys are great.
So if you want a nice UI get a copy of RHEL and purchase yourself a Cpanel subscription, and if you want a product that works and needs some time getting used to and it wont break your bank, get Virtualmin Pro.
all good mate, I didn’t write the post to whinge, more to support your great work. I use a lot of open source software and the quality of the docs is pretty variable- and with commercial solutions!
Migrating off cPanel can be easy or nightmarish depending on how many of their kludges the site is using.
