Can you let us know what error you’re seeing?
Also, what OS and version?
LOL, I just did a FULL RE-INSTALL OF THE ENTIRE OS!!! and V-Min, This Is Insane, I Re-Installed centos 7 server minimal, did the standard “yum update” and download virtiualmin.sh, chmod +x, all that, Locked up 2x on Clam install, Yes, I Deleted The drives, and re-installed the whole OS twice now!, and did it 2x now, F’n Dumb…
Now can’t even get my site up and running, Fixing GO DELETE the SSD’s AGAIN and Re-Install…
No error, It sits there a spins that stupid Curser !/-!/
You want me to look at a log tell me before I delete this, My site has been down all day, trying to get things back to “Default”, Tell me what you need so I can Move on…
Ok In on SFTP, Not sure, I guarantee CALMV install is fried… So In on SFTP or not, It’s NOT a Complete install, And More issues for me…

Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
It’s installing again now, if you’d like the VPN address and PW so you can see…
On 25 of 163 updates for Centos 7 server
Ok Back In Now, Go V-Min, Dunno, the clamav caused and issue, this time it worked, fixing to do a complete RAW backup, Not to go threw this again… You have a great product here, I’m really looking for something good… For the little you want for all the work you put into it, you deserve it…
You Might need to look into your own repo tho… If it breaks the script, and you can’t do a clean install…
Mike
ClamAV does a somewhat large download of the virus database when freshclam is run (this is a normal part of the process, so that you have an up to date virus database); that is orthogonal to our servers, as it comes from the ClamAV servers. But, if you have a slow network, it would potentially make that download slow. I’m guessing that’s the issue you were seeing, though I can’t be sure.
Sorry the lack of feedback was frustrating. There are some points in the install where we don’t have control over what’s happening and can’t really report on how much longer it’s going to take. On a fast network this is not a noticeable problem, but on a slow network, or if there are problems with any of the source sites (either the OS repos, our repos, or the ClamAV repos) it could make it sluggish.
I’ve been planning to rewrite the installer to be more modular, but for this particular problem, I don’t think there’s anything we can do about it, short of putting off updating ClamAV until after install, and doing it in the background. That’d make it less obvious when something goes wrong, though, which is usually undesirable…it’s usually better to know the installation had problems while you’re looking at it, rather than some amount of time later when you might already be using it and putting data on it.
I’m glad it’s working for you now.
Ya I’ve done the Re-Install Enough now, that at times CalmAv is done in 30-45 Seconds, But see my new post in this forum… Did it all again this morning, And everything is running great!!!
My VPS the Highest i’ve seen is 5-10 MB/s but have seen in the area of 200 - 500 kB/s…
Anyway things are running great and I’ll be Signing up for the PRO version the end of the month. (I won’t be Upgrading to it, Don’t need it, What you provide in the GPL is all I need, Not to mention I DO NOT WANT TO MESS THIS UP!!! Lol!!)…
Thanks for a great piece of code!
Mike
