I’m still learning File Manager - and really getting to like it.
Especially as it takes care of keeping user/group ACL under control.
But today uploaded a change to a couple of files on a website and was caught out by the default practice of renaming ie file.html
gets uploaded as file(1).html
So had a dig around and found settings and this default setting:
which to me implies if the file exists then do not overwrite but “Ask”
It didn’t ask just renamed (that seems the worst of all options) surely it should ask me before overwriting?
Oh and another heads up for those stuck with a Windows machine.
remember to change this one or you will download .tar files that have no meaning at microsoft unless you download something that can translate them to .zip files.
