FEATURE REQUEST: Let domain php.ini files be broken without taking Apache completely down.
If I have 100 domains and even one of them has a bad php.ini file, then “restarting Apache” results in web service outage for all 100 domains. I know this is “how Apache works”… but it would be great if someone clever could come up with a work-around. : )
I suppose the best that Virtualmin could do is have a new “NO-FAIL-APACHE” mode.
When this mode is enabled, Virtualmin could run an additional apachectl configtest command after every Apache configuration operation that it carries out; and if it fails, Virtualmin gracefully restores the Apache config file to the previous state.
This will slow down Virtualmin’s responsiveness but it will result in an unbreakable, fail-proof system.
Perhaps this thread should be moved to the Blue Skies section.
