It would be great if the 8G firewall could be enabled/disabled for a domain in Manage Web Apps and/or WP Workbench.

That might be doable. I will have to take a look at it.
If this is the Perishable Press 8G firewall, it’s usually placed in a htaccess file. Which means every server request has to go through the rules. If it were an Apache addition, it would load once.
FYI:
8G has been forked for both Nginx and Apache by Tonkünstler-on-the-Bund. The Apache fork uses SetEnvIf* instead of mod_rewrite (*which means potential further Apache configuration).

Interesting fork, but personally I prefer the original 8G firewall.
If logging (Enable Logging for nG Firewall | Perishable Press) also could be added that would be great too! But I don’t want to push my luck Ilia, just 8G would already be awesome
