Failed to request certificate : Cannot write to directory /var/cache/bind/

SYSTEM INFORMATION
OS type and version Ubuntu Linux 20.04.4
Virtualmin version 6.17-3

Trying to renew my LetsEnrypt certs and after it thinks for a long long time, I get a cryptic message back:

Requesting a certificate for soberscove.com, www.soberscove.com, beta.soberscove.com, fit4lifeproject.com, www.fit4lifeproject.com, moorepsyc.com, www.moorepsyc.com, daveschallsound.com, www.daveschallsound.com, wp.craftclarity.com, beta.craftclarity.com, craftclarity.com, www.craftclarity.com from Let’s Encrypt …

… request was successful!

Configuring webserver to use new certificate and key …

Failed to request certificate : Cannot write to directory /var/cache/bind/

As you can see it reports that the operation was successful but also that it failed to request the cert due to error. Indeed when I go and check the certs live in the wild, they have not been renewed.

This is about to become a massive problem for me within a few weeks.

I did upgrade to 6.17-3 after being on I think 6.07 for a long long time, there was some funky GPG stuff that I had to resolve, but I am all updated now.

Just need to figure out how to renew these certs!!!

I did see that there was another thread on this, but it was slightly different and no resolution there…

Thank ya,

Stephen

Following up here… It looks like restarting Apache actually did sort things out with the certs, but this implies foul portends in terms of automated cert renewal. Not the end of the world though…
