Your system either can’t reach the internet or can’t resolve DNS requests.
So, make sure you have configured network correctly.
You could try pinging 8.8.8.8 (one of Google’s DNS servers), and if you can ping it, you could change your DNS servers in /etc/resolv.conf or in your network configuration (however it’s done, you haven’t told use your OS and version so I can’t even guess…there are at least a half dozen common ways to configure networking on Linux systems).
