@Jamie something wrong with the IPv6 configuration for download.webmin.com?
If the file matched what was in the package you’d have:
$ debsums webmin|grep filemin/index.cgi
/usr/share/webmin/filemin/index.cgi OK
Lack of an OK indicates…I’m not sure what, actually, I thought debsums would tell you the kind of mismatch, but I don’t use it often. But, no OK would, I assume, indicate the file has been changed since installation.
Or, maybe not. The repo looks fine over IPv6.
Why is it looking for jammy
?
That’s not the right path for Webmin downloads, which are not version specific.
Something is wrong with your sources. I thought we checked that earlier. Where the heck is jammy
coming from?
Your only apt source for Webmin should be:
deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/ubuntu-webmin-developers.gpg] https://download.webmin.com/download/newkey/repository stable contrib
I guess you have something else in /etc/apt/sources.list
maybe?

Could the linode mirror be a problem with V2.202?
This is nonsense. I don’t know where this comes from. That’s never been a valid path for a Webmin repository we maintain.
I don’t see why it would. I don’t know of a Linode mirror of Webmin.
I would send you the file but I’m only allowed two URL’s
They only support up to Webmin V2.200. I did a work around to install V2.202. Server has been there for at least !0 years, The mirror for a couple. I have several other instances that are working on V2.200.
Time for me to get some sleep. 14 hr day, pick it up in te morning.
I changed the repositories to not use linode mirror. Reinstalled Webmin when I run apt update I am getting errors below. The repositories I am using are from a server that is not on linode but otherwise identical to this server. I get no errors on that server.

This continues to be nonsense. What is all this xxxxxxxdownload.webmincom
stuff? That’s not what our setup-repos.sh
script sets up. I have no idea what you’re doing or what you’re trying to do, but it has nothing to do with us. We can’t help you with repos we don’t maintain on URLs that are clearly not resolvable on the internet. If this is some sort of Linode-hosted mirror, I can’t help you with that, I don’t know anything about it. I recommend you use our repos.
Why are you changing all of your Webmin repo URLs to xxxxxxxdownload.webmincom
? It looks like you did that with the newkey
repo URL that setup-repos.sh
sets up, too. That doesn’t even make sense. I honestly have no idea what you’re trying to do , but I can’t help you with things that have nothing to do with us.
I will repeat myself:
I don’t know what else to tell you, it feels like you’re just doing bizarre stuff to waste our time.
Are you doing this nonsense to avoid the spam filter? Just wrap stuff like this in triple backticks. Any URL, domain name, or text from console, logs, or code, should be wrapped in either single backticks (`) for a single word, or triple backticks (```) for multiline text. I can’t infer meaning from mangled errors.
This is covered in the guidelines:
When I reply it only allows two URLs in reply because I am a new user, This gets around that. Sorry. I have identified the problem with the key file, it is in openPGP format instead of gpg. This is an Ubuntu issue possibly caused by updates coming from the mirror site. I am working on it.
No, it seems to be working fine to me.
Didn’t we have a mirror for download.webmin.com
?
Off-topic. The problem was not IPv6 or anything with the Webmin repo. It’s misconfiguration on OPs system.
