Any suggestions?? I’ve been trying this for several days with differents options, but I don’t get it to work.
Any help will be greatly appreciated… Thanks for your time.

Hmm, can you attach your entire /root/virtualmin-install.log file? I’m not sure what’s wrong from the above, but it might contain more clues that help us figure out what’s going awry  Thanks!

Thanks again for your time…

Howdy,

I did some testing on the mirrors in your sources.list file, and I don’t seem to be able to connect to some of them.

That may explain why the install is failing, it may not be able to find a place to download the dependencies Virtualmin is looking for.

My suggestion would be to try a different set of mirrors, and see if things work better at that point.

-Eric

Hello again, Eric… and thanks a lot for your time. I have not been able to make it work and I’m very interested in use virtualmin…

I’ve changed some of the repositories in my sources.list file with no result. E.g., if I uncomment all hardy-security repositories like this:

deb http://update.onlinehome-server.info/ubuntu/ hardy-security main restricted

deb-src http://update.onlinehome-server.info/ubuntu/ hardy-security main restricted

deb http://update.onlinehome-server.info/ubuntu/ hardy-security universe

deb-src http://update.onlinehome-server.info/ubuntu/ hardy-security universe

#deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu lucid main restricted multiverse

deb http://download.webmin.com/download/repository sarge contrib

deb http://webmin.mirror.somersettechsolutions.co.uk/repository sarge contrib

I get this error messege:

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Looks like the problem is in this file, but I don’t see it.

Sorry, Eric… what do you mean when you say ‘try a different set of mirrors’? Simply try to comment or uncomment the repositories of the ‘sources.list’ file, or write a diferent ‘sources.list’ file? I think that is the original file.
Thank you very much for your time… I’ll continue trying it…

Howdy,

My recommendation is to make sure none of your mirrors is using “update.onlinehome-server.info” – that particular mirror doesn’t seem to be working correctly.

-Eric

Hello again, Eric… I’ve replaced the file sources.list by another one from a ‘clean’ ubuntu 10.04 and it looks to works fine.
I’ve yet installed virtualmin, but now I’ve some troubles whith disk quotes… I’ll continue…

Thanks again for your time…

wrong places sorry…
