error 451 Critical disk space error on smtp client...

HI guys I have a problem with new server… I have installed centos 32 bits 5.8 with a new installation of virtualmin… everything is ok with a new domain created but when I try to send emails from any pop mail client I receive this error…

An unknown error has occurred.

Server Error: 451
Server Response: 451 Critical disk space errorSystem problem: retry later.

from webmail all is ok… I have 50GB disk space available…

I ama very confused… when this error show on my client, on the server I not have any logs errors…

pls help me…

Howdy,

Could this user’s quota be full? Or the Virtual Server’s quota?

You can check that by going into Edit User -> USERNAME, and review the user’s quota there.

You can also go into Edit Virtual Server, and look at the quota settings there.

the quota is unlimited… and the server es new…

What error do you see in the mail logs?

That’s located in either /var/log/mail.log, or /var/log/maillog, depending on your distro.

Well, if it’s not generating an error in your logs – are you certain that it’s connecting to the correct server?

The error you’re seeing is an unusual one, I haven’t seen a server running Virtualmin give the error you’re seeing.

Which doesn’t mean it can’t happen, but that in combination with the fact that you don’t have any errors in your logs make me wonder if it’s really your Virtualmin server that’s giving you that particular error.

I also should think that something as severe as “out of disk space” definitely should entice Postfix to write something in its mail.err logfile, no matter what the log level is set to. :slight_smile:
