Email client constantly asks for login details to virtualmin hosted email

Hi all I have a bit of a weird issue and was hoping someone would know whats going on. I have been hosting my own mail server using virtualmin for the past year and its been working great, really love it.

However I run into an issue when I connect to the mail accounts on the server through Microsoft outlook mobile (IOS) specifically. I can connect to the accounts without a problem however every few days it asks me to login again. I then have to enter my login details again to continue. This usually happens every couple of days however sometimes it can go a couple of weeks before it does it again. Ive checked my config on MS outlook and theres nothing there which would point to there being an issue, I cant find any setting to turn it off.

The weird thing is I have signed into the same accounts on MS Outlook on desktop (windows) and with that I have no issues, its just on IOS.

I have a static IP adress set with valid SSL certificates that do not change every couple of days.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Is this a Virtualmin config issue (do I need to change something)?

I can’t see this being anything other than a client issue. Your server will always ask for a login. Either your client provides/remembers it or it doesn’t.

Thats what I thought but its strange because it only happens with accounts that are hosted on my virtualmin servers when accessed through MS outlook on IOS. Has anyone had any similar issue before. Its starting to drive me crazy and MS is of no use as always. Thanks

You can check the logs next time it happens. If it isn’t your device make sure you get the time as accurately as possible so you don’t have much to search through.
