Domain points to wrong website

I have a strange issue I could use some guidance on a Virtualmin Pro CentOS server.

There’s 150 or so virtual domains on the dedicated server. On Saturday I moved one of the virtual domains to a private IP to install an SSL cert, let’s call that domainA.com.

Now by accident I have discovered one of the other virtual domains using the shared IP. let’s call that domainB.com, points to domainA.com.

www.domainb.com works fine, only domainB.com points to domainA.com.

As far as I know so far, only one of the shared IP accounts is having this issue.

Hope I made this clear. Any ideas?

Brian

Howdy,

Hmm, is domainb perhaps a Sub-Server of domaina, or otherwise related to domaina in some way?

-Eric

No, completely separate.

Perhaps I should open a ticket so I can give more information.

Brian

Hi,

Are you accessing domainB.com by way of:

https://domainB.com

or

http://domianB.com

If you’re using the former (SSL), it may just be pointing to the default SSL site if SSL is not enabled for domainB.com.

Ask me about my new support plans which include a FREE copy of Virtualmin Pro!!!

I’ve been using http://domainB.com, but either way takes it to domainA.com.

And of course since domainA.com is on a private IP, it’s not the servers default site.

Hi,

As I suspect privacy is a concern for you on here (hence the use of domainA and domainB) would you be open to a quick screen sharing session so I can see what you mean, and perhaps offer better advice.

If so, drop me a line on Skype or by email to setup an appropriate time.

After opening a support ticket and working through some ideas with Jamie and Eric, the issue has been resolved. Ended up being a very unexplainable error on the side of the 3rd party DNS server I use.

Hi,

Good to hear you got it resolved!
