Do you get any errors in the syslog on the master server? Is BIND listening on TCP port 53 for external addresses? Is a firewall blocking incoming TCP traffic on port 53 for the master?
The text of the error I posted was from the syslog of the slave. The master does not output anything.

Okay, seems the systems can reach each other fine.
Please check the syslog of the master server too, if any errors are recorded there.
Also check the BIND module in Webmin, section Zone defaults, if there’s any entry in “Allow transfers from”, and if so, if it’s the right IP. The same you can do for the respective zone, section Zone options.
