Decommission Server?

I’ve migrated to a new data center and tomorrow is the day the old server is to be shut down.

In addition to deleting all backups and the contents of the home directory, what is the best way to disable virtualmin before I loose control of the server?

Brian

Howdy,

You could always delete the various “webmin-*” related packages, which would remove Webmin/Virtualmin altogether.

From there, you might consider deleting the /etc/webmin directory.

Of course, make sure the new server is working correctly before doing this, but if your goal is to remove Webmin/Virtualmin and the related settings, that’s a way to do that

Thanks Eric, I’ll take your suggestion.

The new server has been successfully carrying the load for several days now - so no worries there (thanks in part to help you gave me in another post).
