Excellent! Even though, syslog isn’t pre-installed in Debian 12 by default, it’s worth noting that certain cloud providers, like GCP, might actually have syslog configured on their Debian 12 instances, and therefore /var/log/mail.log would be available.
Ok the next Virtualmin release will use journalctl to find mail logs if no regular log files exist …

This is the best solution and we need it implemented ASAP. They are quite upset on other forums about the lack of traditional logs in Debian 12. pflogsumm uses mail.log, but there is a bash solution to run based on a cron job and extract certain information from the journal that it then sends by email.
Maybe complain to debian developers
